The PNP Aviation Security Group reported the arrest of a Chinese national and three others for the alleged illegal detention of another Chinese national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.
According to PNP-AVSEGROUP, a woman approached them, claiming that her boyfriend, who is also a Chinese national, was under the custody of unidentified male persons on board a white Toyota Grandia, and they were about to depart from NAIA Terminal 2 bound for Cebu via Philippine Airlines.
Immediately, PNP-AVSEGROUP personnel responded to the report, resulting in the successful interception of the said Toyota Grandia, where the victim is, and the four male suspects were immediately arrested.
The authorities have learned that the two suspects were military reservists and ex-military, and a caliber M45 Norin and a caliber 9mm short firearm were found in their possession.
P/Col Anthony Aberdin said that the four arrested suspects were taken to the AVSEU-NCR for proper custody, investigation, and the filing of appropriate charges against them.
Meanwhile, Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco announced the deportation of 17 Chinese nationals who boarded a Philippine Airlines flight to Wuhan, China. They are the third batch of illegal online gambling-related deportations.
The 17 is part of the more than 300 foreign nationals, mostly Chinese citizens, set to be deported by the BI after being arrested by local law enforcement agencies for involvement in illegal online gambling.
