Captains of industry headed by Private Sector Advisory Council chief, Aboitiz Group CEO Sabin Aboitiz, have joined President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for a five-day business trip in Bangkok, Thailand for the APEC Business Advisory Council-APEC Summit meetings.
Aboitiz, who is also an APEC-ABAC-PH member, will rub elbows with like-minded business leaders as well as heads of state and government and plan constructive measures that will advance APEC's goals.
With the said meeting, Aboitiz will be attending in his capacity as ABAC Regional Economic Integration Working Group co-chairperson and lead for services.
Besides Aboitiz, other ABAC PH members attending the summit include its chairman Tomas Alcantara and ABAC Finance Working Group co-chairperson Joanne de Asis, Makati Business Club's Guillermo Luz, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. chairperson emeritus Francis Chua.
Other attendees joining the Philippine delegation are Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.'s first vice president and chief reputation and sustainability officer Ginggay Hontiveros, FVP and chief of staff Geraldine Polanco, and MBC and ABAC PH lead staffer Patrick Chua.
Deputy Premiere to open Summit
Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Supattanapong Punmeechaow will be officially opening the summit in a ceremony on 14 November, followed by a series of productive discussions and meetings.
Aboitiz will also participate as co-chairperson of the Regional Economic Integration Working Group to discuss key learning and business recommendations from the ABAC Service Public-Private Dialogue held last 12 July.
The dialogue is set to discuss factors that Aboitiz has continuously promoted within the Aboitiz Group and for the Philippine economy, including a revitalized entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of its people while leveraging technology, which will be shared in the meeting and may be adapted for greater and inclusive regional growth.
"We must all be constantly guided by a strong spirit of cooperation not just amongst ourselves as member nations, but also within ourselves as individual nations," said Aboitiz.
