Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced over the weekend that the city government is offering free operation for those with cleft lip and cleft palate issues.
Lacuna urged interested parties to get in touch with the Sta. Ana Hospital under its director Dr. Grace Padilla, who said children with such problems would be prioritized.
Other than being residents of Manila, no other requirements shall be asked from those who would seek the free operation, Lacuna said.
If the allotment allows, Padilla said that even non-residents of Manila may be accommodated. Registration and scheduling for the operation shall be on a first-come, first-served basis.
A total of 100 slots had been allocated for the operation set to start in April 2023. Even newborns may be registered.
Padilla said the operations will be done under the "Zero Cleft Manila" program.
