A 55-year-old woman was killed when she and the e-bike she was riding were dragged by a Philippine National Railways train Thursday night in Paco, Manila.
Reported by the police to have died on the spot from the serious injuries she sustained was Dahlia dela Merced, a resident of Sta. Mesa, Manila.
She was dragged a few meters from the point of collision between the train and her bike, witnesses told police probers.
An investigation by P/Cpl. John Mañaol of the Manila
District Traffic Enforcement Unit said the accident happened at the Carreon corner Laura streets railroad crossing.
Dela Merced was hit by a northbound PNR train with body number EMU 5 Del 917 while she was in the opposite lane westbound of Carreon Street.
The victim's remains were brought to the Manila Islamic Cemetery and Cultural Hall.
