Operatives from the Manila Police District-Rabago Police Station 1 apprehended six minors who boarded a delivery truck and stole iron metal while passing along R10 road in Tondo, Manila.
MPD-PS1 station commander P/Lt. Col Rosalino Ibay Jr. said that the six minors — whose identities were withheld — were arrested during a follow up operation conducted by Smokey Mountain PCP after they were caught in a barangay CCTV.
Based on the CCTV footage, four male minors boarded an open truck which was stopped at the traffic light and hurriedly took steel bars.
Road 10, Tondo village chief Melecio Bernabe said that the so-called 'jumper boys' are rampant as they steal from open trucks traversing the road.
After the arrest of the six minors, Ibay have invited the parents at the Police station along with barangay officials to tell them the reason why their kids were arrested.
Ibay said that while they cannot be charged in court as they are minors, they will be brought to Boystown Complex to undergo counselling while their parents will be charged in violation of the Anti-Child Endangerment provision in relation to R.A. 7610 or Child Abuse at the Office of the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
