The youngest son of former Transportation Secretary Art Tugade has been appointed as acting general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority, according to the Office of the Press Secretary on Wednesday.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has named Atty. Jose Arturo "Jay Art" Tugade to the post, succeeding Cesar Chiong.

Tugade will manage the country's international gateway — the Ninoy Aquino International Airport — and will serve as the chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors of MIAA.

To recall, the elder Tugade led the Transportation Department under the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte from 2016 to 2022.
