Vax certs release delay at NAIA slammed
Many have reported being given the ‘runaround’ by BoQ and DoH personnel on getting the document
Passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, including Filipinos departing for jobs abroad, have complained about difficulties in securing Covid-19 vaccination certificates from the Bureau of Quarantine under the Department of Health.
Several passengers at NAIA's terminals have reached out to journalists detailed at the airport to complain about the allegedly slow release of the documentation needed so they can board their flights.
Many have slammed failed attempts to get online with the DoH's vaccination certification system, as well as being given the "runaround" by BoQ and DoH personnel on how to get the documents.
For passengers arriving from abroad, the One Health Pass has also been the subject of complaints, forcing authorities to replace it with the simpler e-Arrival card.
Some passengers complained that some at the BoQ had been asking P370 per "yellow card" issued to passengers who could not secure the certifications due to faults, not of their own doing.
Meanwhile, the Office of Transportation Security is considering forgoing the in initial security check at the NAIA terminals following the installation of modern security equipment.
OTS administrator Ma. O Aplasca said the planned move is to further ensure the ease of travel of air passengers.
Using advanced imaging technology body scanners, Aplasca said an entire check only takes 10 to 15 seconds.
