BARMM allotted P200-M to Lanao del Sur

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao through the Ministry of Public Works has allotted close to P200 million for the construction of three minor roads, a town hall and a bridge for farmers and commuters in the towns of Sultan Dumalondong and Lumbayanague in Lanao del Sur.
MPW Minister Architect Eduard Uy Guerra said yesterday, through the 2nd Engineering District of Lanao del Sur will construct two road projects in Sultan Dumalondong municipality worth P56.8 million and funder under the Bangsamoro Appropriation Act of 2022.
Of the allotted amount, P28.4 million was earmarked for the 1.5 km Lumbac-Banday, Pagalongan road Phase-2 and another P28.4 million for the concreting of 1.5km Bacayawan-Pagalongan-Lake Butig road.
The Sultan Dumalondong will also receive road concreting projects from the BARMM for the Bacayawan-Pagalongan-Dinganun 1.5 km road worth P27 million and Dinganun to Sumalindo-Malalis two kilometers road worth P36 million.
The roads will connect several barangays within the municipality and will be beneficial for the far-flung farmers.
Guerra said MPW will also construct a P30 million town hall for Sultan Dumalondong to serve as the seat of the local government in the municipality.
LDS 2nd District Engineers' Office is presently undertaking the construction of a P30 million bridge and the P11.66 million rehabilitation of a road in Lumbayanague town, he said.
Adding the construction of Kabasaran bridge is a vital infrastructure, especially for the town's farmers in transporting agricultural products and for the regular commuters.
The bridge is connecting the inner barangays going to the national highways of the town, he said.
"We also need to rehabilitate by concreting the 0.6 km road from the bridge worth P11.66 million to have a smooth flow of vehicles going to the main road so that our farmers and commuters could fully enjoy the better transportation flow in this barangay," Guerra said.
