President Bongbong Marcos on Thursday said the new Press Secretary will be named next week following the resignation of Trixie Cruz Angeles.
"Early next week, we should make the announcement," he said.
"Malapit na 'yan, para hindi na ako haharap dito sa inyo," he quipped.
In a media interview in the Malacañang Palace, Marcos said the next press secretary should be a "friend of the media" and someone who excels in the art of messaging.
"Obviously, you need somebody who is very experienced in the… probably a journalist or is a media practitioner," he said.
"'Yung marunong mag-messaging para 'yung mga gusto naming palabasin, talagang lumalabas. That's what important—that we get the information, the messaging across," he added.
He also revealed that he is now evaluating three personalities for the position, who he refused to name.
"We are down to a shortlist of three. So, we're trimming it down," he told reporters.
Mike Toledo, Cesar Chavez, Gilbert Remulla, and Paul Soriano on Wednesday admitted that they have been informed that they are being considered to replace Angeles.
