Amid the rising number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in the past weeks, Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go has appealed to the public anew to remain vigilant, disciplined, and supportive of the government's pandemic efforts as the fight against the deadly respiratory disease.
The senator stressed that need to strictly follow the implemented health and safety protocols to curb the spread of the virus.
"Preventing the spread of Covid-19 starts with us by being responsible citizens and following health and safety protocols," said Go, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Health and Demography.
The lawmaker's message comes after he sent his team to a two-day relief activity in Dinagat Islands and distributed snacks, masks, shirts and vitamins to a total of 200 residents from the towns of San Jose, Basilisa, Cagdianao, Dinagat, Loreto and Libjo.
The team also provided cellular phones, shoes, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended livelihood grants to help more communities build back better from the pandemic.

Launched in Cebu in 2018, the Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop that aims to improve the delivery of medical assistance to Filipinos by bringing together all concerned agencies that offer medical assistance programs under one roof, including the DSWD, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office
The e senator, who also serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, has extended his support to the construction of new roads from Jct. Dapanas to Roma, a seawall at Barangay Catadman in Basilisa, and a multipurpose building in Tubajon as part of his efforts to help boost the province's economic growth.
