Two-time MPL PH champion and M3 Mobile Legends world champion Blacklist International needed a sweep to snatch the top seed from ECHO, and they did just on the last day of the regular season this Monday evening.
Composed of its world championship lineup of OhMyV33nus, Wise, OHEB, Hadji, and Edward, Blacklist International proved once more that beating them twice in a tournament is easier said than done as they scored a 2-0 nod over ECHO.
"Composure is number one. We played against the top one strong team so we had to give our all. Our loss to RSG was a huge lesson why we pulled off a 2-0 over ECHO," said Blacklist's team captain OhMyV33nus.
"Three more matches and we would regain the trophy. This has been the hardest season because all of the teams improved and everyone has increased their standards," Blacklist coach BON CHAN chimed in.
The highly impressive victory over ECHO improved Blacklist's final standing to 9-5 with 29 points.
Earlier in the day, defending MPL champion and MSC 2022 champion RSG PH scored a sweep over Nexplay EVOS. The win catapulted them to the no.3 spot of the regular season, improving their standing to 9-5 with 25 points.
