Two city health centers in Caloocan City were inaugurated i located at Phase 9 and Phase 10, Barangay 176, Caloocan, yesterday.
The said barangay is the largest in the country in terms of population and is home to over 260,000 residents.
According to the Mayor Along Malapitan, this is part of the city government's mission to bring healthcare services closer to communities as the said health centers provide basic services such as medical check-up and even minor surgeries.
City Health Department (CHD) Officer-in-charge Dra. Evelyn O. Cuevas highlighted the government's effort in providing quality healthcare for all, and assured everyone that they will continue boosting these services to more barangays in the future.
The health centers have a minor surgery area, recovery room, examination and consultation room, and a breastfeeding area/playpen for mothers and their children. It shall be open to a range of services including over-all health evaluation, immunization, pre-natal check-up, dental check-up, and free vitamins among others.
