The Department of Social Welfare and Development has completed the distribution of P1.5 billion in financial assistance to indigent students as of yesterday, 24 September.
DSWD Assistant Secretary Rommel Lopez said that on the last day of distribution the DSWD served 25,225 students, receiving P59,520,000 in assistance.
A total of P27,392,000 was distributed to 6,848 college and vocational students, and another P11,148,000 was disbursed to 3,716 senior high school students.
On the other hand, 6,306 high school students received P12,625,000, and another 8,355 elementary students were given a total of P8,355,00.
