Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna yesterday thanked popular fastfood chain KFC for committing employ senior citizens.
KFC was the latest restaurant to answer Manila's call for its elderly residents to be gainfully employed as they still have a lot of productive years ahead of them.
She said that Ordinance 8598 mandates restaurants in the city to help provide jobs not only to seniors but also to those with disabilities who can work.
The ordinance prohibits the consideration of age in denying an applicant work within the city.
