Authorities arrested a worker for molesting a minor girl who was picking up plastic bottles to sell, in Navotas City, Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect identified as Jay-Ar Blateria, 29, of Little Samar Street, Barangay. San Jose is now facing charges of violation of Section 3b of RA 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Investigation by the Navotas Police Women and Children's Protection Desk showed the victim, who hides by the name Viola, 6, along with her friends, came to the area to pick up and collect plastic bottles and other things that they could be sold to make money.
The children went around the streets until they landed along Little Samar. When the suspect noticed them, he invited the victim to come with him with a promise to give her plastic bottles to sell. The other kids were left in a nearby place.
The suspect waited for the victim under a tree near his residence but instead of giving her plastic bottles, he forcefully stroked the girls private parts and kissed her in every part of her body.
In extreme panic, the victim wasn›t able to scream for help. Upon reaching home, she reported the incident to her mother what happened. They then asked for help from the tanods of Barangay San Jose that resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect.
