Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos, Jr. recently met with directors and officers from the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center and the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. at the DILG office in Camp Crame to finalize the terms of the partnership between the said hospital in giving free hospitalization for Philippine National Police officers who will get injured in the line of duty.
The meeting was attended by PCCAI vice president Juanito Ang, PCCAI directors Robert Yang, Edmond Santos, and Engr. Julian Co, CGHMC SVP and PCCAI vice chairman Jameson Dy, Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin S. Abalos and City Legal Officer Atty. Jerusha Villanueva.
The CGHMC also eyes to donate motorcycles to the PNP and the Bureau of Fire Protection. The motorcycles will be donated to the Manila Police District to increase its police visibility and further promote peace and order.
Abalos recommended that other motorcycle units — to be equipped with emergency response kits — should be donated to the BFP as it will be used by the bureau to dispatch first responders in emergency cases ahead of ambulances that may experience delayed response during heavy traffic.
