Memphis City police and a SWAT team arrested a 19-year-old man suspected of shooting dead four people, wounding three others and carjacking two SUV in Tennessee, United States at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday (9:58 a.m., Thursday in Manila).
The suspect identified as Ezekiel Kelly was released from jail on 16 March after serving 11 months of a three-year sentence for an aggravated assault plea, News Channel 3 reported.
Kelly was arrested after wrecking a Dodge Challenger he carjacked while being chased by police, Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis said.
Based on a police timeline of Kelly's shooting and carjacking spree, he allegedly shot dead a 24-year-old man in the Highland Heights neighborhood at 12:56 a.m. local time on Wednesday, livestreaming the shooting on social media, according to News Channel 3.
A man found shot dead in a vehicle at a gas station around 4:38 p.m. was also linked to Kelly based on the video footage of a surveillance camera.
After injuring a woman, the suspect walked into a car store and shot a man while livestreaming on Facebook.
At 7:23 p.m., he allegedly shot and killed a woman, took her SUV and drove off.
He next shot a man and shot dead a woman on Raines Road.
At 8:56 p.m., Kelly allegedly carjacked the Dodge and left the SUV behind. Police spotted him and a high-speed pursuit began leading to his arrest, News Channel 3 said.
