GENERAL TINIO, Nueva Ecija — The local government here assured the safety and security of the residents following the recent encounter between the Philippine Army and the communist terrorist group members.
According to Mayor Isidro Pajarillaga, the Municipal Peace and Order Council along with the Philippine Army has set up checkpoints and conducting regular patrols in the mountainous areas of General Tinio.
The countermeasures are aimed at preventing further bloodshed that happened during the recent encounter between the military and the rebels that left one soldier dead while another injured in Barangay Rio Chico.
Pajarillaga added that his constituents and businessmen can count on his administration to continue with the programs for livelihood, tourism and agriculture, stressing that infrastructure projects such as roads, schools, health facilities, particularly in remote areas such as Barangays Pias, Nazareth, Rio Chico, Palale and Bago will continue.
