Abucay intensifies fight vs poultry houseflies

Abucay intensifies fight vs poultry houseflies

ABUCAY, Bataan — Bent on solving the proliferation of houseflies allegedly coming from poultries, Mayor Robin Tagle assured residents that they will adopt an ordinance to control the spread of the houseflies in barangays.

Tagle's move comes after complaints were lodged by residents of Abucay in Upper Mabatang and other barangay folk where a number of poultries were set up.

"The houseflies were shooed away from the poultries after the operators sprayed them with chemicals inside their poultries. As a result, these houseflies just transferred to our houses," lamented an irked housewife.

The mayor — along with representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Rural Health Unit, Provincial Vet Office — conducted an ocular inspection at various poultries but they were only able to see for themselves minimal presence of houseflies.
