A 50-year-old man who was arrested for drinking in public died from a heart attack at Police Station 5 of the Manila Police District on Tuesday night.
J.C. Acuin of Intramuros, Manila was earlier arrested along with six other companions for violation of a city ordinance prohibiting drinking in public places and were brought to the Intramuros PCP.
The next day, the victim complained to the jailer of chest pain. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by duty doctors at the emergency room.
He had no signs of injuries nor wounds that would bear signs that he was hurt or were inflicted on him while inside detention.
His body was brought to Cruz Funeral Parlor for processing and autopsy.
