The camp of Rio Olympics veteran Charly Suarez knows the clock is ticking.

This is the reason why his chief handler and trainer Delfin Boholst is not leaving any stone unturned in their quest to crack the world's top 15 in the
super-featherweight division.

On 23 October, Suarez will make the second defense of his World Boxing Association Asia 130-lb title against the battle-tested Carlo Magali.

The venue will be the Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque, according to Boholst, who also used to be a member of the national team like the 34-year-old Suarez.

Recently, Suarez (13-0 with seven knockouts), a three-time Southeast Asian Games champion and 2014 Incheon Asian Games silver medalist, prevailed over Mark John Yap.

Magali (25-13-3 with 13 knockouts) will be fighting for the first time in almost three years.

Though inactive, Magali has logged quality rounds not just here but abroad, having seen action several times in Australia and Japan, once each in Thailand, Malaysia and Ghana and even twice in Russia.

He entered the pro ranks in 2019 after a stellar amateur career that saw him fight extensively across the world.

During his stint in the World Series of Boxing in Europe, Suarez even faced Vasyl Lomachenko, now regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound.
