Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos led the Philippines' entry to the quarterfinals after a quick work of a young South Korea team, 25-18, 25-13, 25-17, Thursday night in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup for Women at the Philsports Arena.

The power-hitting duo combined for 19 attacks in the host squad's one-hour, 20-minute demolition of the Koreans to close Pool A with a 2-2 win-loss record.

Finishing at no. 3, the Philippines will take on Southeast Asian powerhouse Thailand in the knockout stage Friday.

Galanza posted 12 points with all but one coming off kills while Carlos had eight kills, two kills blocks and an ace for 11 markers for the Philippines, bannered by Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference champion Creamline.

Other than the Koreans tying the second set at 9-all, it was all Philippines in the last match of the preliminaries.

Kim Seyul led the Koreans with nine points.
