English actor and model Hannah Dodd is joining the popular Netflix series Bridgerton as a recast character in the third season.
The actress will play Francesca Bridgerton, replacing Ruby Stokes in the role. After playing Francesca, Lady Violet's
sixth-oldest child, in seasons one and two of Bridgerton, Stokes left the show to star in fellow Netflix production Lockwood & Co.
In a recent interview with TV Line, Dodd said she is stoked to be the new Francesca: "I'm so excited. Everybody's been so lovely. I just want to do a good job."
The actress revealed that she has read six of the eight Bridgerton books written by Julia Quinn. The books form the basis of the original television show. Dodd said she needed to bone up on the books to get into the character of Francesca. "She's such a beautiful character (and) I can't really believe that I get to play her," she added.
Dodd previously squeezed in an appearance in Marvel's Eternals as Sandra, a supporting role. She also joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming Enola Holmes 2, starring Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown.
