The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday presented newly procured equipment worth over P500 million to enhance its operational capability, particularly in crime prevention and public safety.
The ceremony, held at Camp Crame in Quezon City, was led by PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. and attended by senior police officials. The acquisitions fall under the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) and Congress-Introduced Changes and Adjustments (CICA) for fiscal year 2025.
Under the CEP, the PNP received equipment valued at P244.7 million, including 800 sets of CDM equipment, 3,711 all-purpose waistcoat vests, 600 sets of non-lethal equipment, and 403 night vision devices. An additional P262.2 million worth of assets were procured under CICA, including 117 personnel carriers and 71 light motorcycles.
Nartatez said the equipment will improve mobility, protection, and operational readiness, particularly for Tourist Police Units, as the country prepares for increased travel during Holy Week and the summer season.
“These will enhance the capability of our police units to prevent focus crimes and improve police visibility and response,” he said, adding that the new assets will be immediately deployed to ensure public safety.
The PNP said the procurement supports its ongoing modernization efforts and aligns with its priority to strengthen resource management and service delivery.
