Ogie Diaz calls out Willie Revillame's campaign outburst — 'Hindi jacket ang binoboto, kundi ugali'

Entertainment columnist and talent manager Ogie Diaz is not mincing words after senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame was caught on video losing his temper during a recent motorcade. The incident, which quickly made rounds on social media, showed Revillame visibly agitated, throwing t-shirts with apparent aggression and scolding people on his campaign float.

Diaz took to Facebook to voice his disappointment, highlighting that such behavior—especially from someone courting the public’s trust—sends the wrong message.

In his post, Diaz reminded candidates that humility and grace under pressure are far more valuable to voters than freebies or theatrics. Referencing Revillame’s long-running TV persona known for giving away “jackets” and cash prizes, Diaz emphasized that public service requires a deeper sense of responsibility.

“Paano tayo iboboto niyan kung nakakalimutan nating ngumiti man lang, kahit hindi na magbigay ng jacket?” he quipped.

Ogie further cautioned against normalizing outbursts, whether on stage or on-air. Revillame, who has been known to lash out at staff during live broadcasts, was warned that such behavior might reflect poorly on his capability to handle public office.

Nagpapakatotoo lang ako,’” Diaz said.
