Legendary TV personality Kris Aquino took to social media to share an update on her health, clarifying that she is still not fit to return to work despite earlier reports of an upcoming project.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Aquino shared a photo with friends who visited her in Manila. She captioned it with lyrics from Danny Gokey’s Tell Your Heart to Beat Again and expressed gratitude to her friends for their unwavering support.

"Thank you @chinitaprincess, @milesocampo, @darla, Dr. @rainiertanalgo (he’s my pain management doctor), and Dr. @hazeldavidmd. I haven’t posted anything because I didn’t want those praying for me to feel sad & lose faith. May I clarify? I’m not yet ‘fit to work’ because I’m very underweight—37 kilos (82 pounds),” she wrote.

Aquino emphasized that she is working toward regaining weight and improving her overall health.

"My deal with my team of doctors (Dr. Jombi, Dr. Jonnel, @drkatcee, who is now mourning the loss of her father, and Dr. Rainier) is that my WBC doesn’t fall below 5.5 for four straight weeks, my hemoglobin improves to at least 9.5 (since my anemia is both hereditary and nutritional), and my weight holds steady at 90 pounds (40.8 kilos),” she added.

As she continues her treatment, Aquino revealed that she has been diagnosed with additional autoimmune diseases.

"Previously, I enumerated my autoimmune conditions: 1. Autoimmune Thyroiditis; 2. Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria; 3. EGPA (a rare, life-threatening form of Vasculitis); 4. Systemic Sclerosis; 5. Lupus/SLE; and 6. Rheumatoid Arthritis. Added to that list is 7. Fibromyalgia. I have also been exhibiting confirmatory symptoms for 8. Polymyositis and 9. Mixed Connective Tissue Disease," she shared.

Despite the increasing number of illnesses she is battling, Aquino maintains her humor and resilience.

"Bimb said, ‘Mama, you belong in X-Men because you’re a mutant.’ Those closest to me now joke, ‘May nadagdag na naman ba sa autoimmune collection mo?’" she quipped.

Aquino admitted that dealing with multiple autoimmune diseases, compounded by her severe allergies to NSAIDs, steroids, pain relievers, antibiotics, and Immunoglobulin Therapy, has made her struggle physically painful. However, she remains hopeful.

"I’ve always been honest with all of you. For some time now, I have been single—no boyfriend, so clearly no fiancé. I never gave details while we were a couple, so it makes no sense to elaborate now," she said, addressing recent speculations about her personal life.

Ending her post on a positive note, Aquino thanked her friends and supporters, assuring them that she will continue to fight.

"Thank you for your love and concern. #hindisusuko #tuloyangLABAN," she wrote.

In 2024, Aquino revealed that doctors initially suspected she had colon cancer—the same illness that took her mother, former President Corazon Aquino. Fortunately, tests confirmed that she was cancer-free, though she described the experience as "devastating."

Despite her ongoing health battles, Aquino hinted at an upcoming show before the year ends, though it remains unclear whether it will be a digital project or air on ABS-CBN.

After residing in the United States for treatment in recent years, Aquino recently returned to the Philippines for chemotherapy sessions.
