Over 2K CCTV cameras deployed across NAIA

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced Friday that more than 2,000 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been deployed across the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) complex to strengthen security monitoring and curb incidents of theft and passenger harassment.
Dizon disclosed the expanded surveillance network during a ceremony at NAIA Terminal 2 in Pasay City, where the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) formally handed over operational control of the airport’s CCTV system to private operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).
“Last time I was here, you know our frustrations — frustrations not only of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., but of all the victims here at the airport of theft and abuse,” Dizon said.
“So, based on the directives of the President, the CCTV system of MIAA was officially turned over as of today to NNIC, our operator,” he added.
The Transportation chief cited that 2,100 cameras are now operational across all terminals within the NAIA complex under NNIC’s central management.
The move aims to address lingering security concerns involving baggage theft by airport personnel and extortion or overcharging by unauthorized taxi operators outside terminal bays.
Under the new operational structure, NNIC will integrate surveillance feeds across all terminals into a single network, linking the main command center with secondary monitoring hubs at Terminals 1 and 3.
NNIC will also conduct an audit to identify remaining blind spots and install additional cameras where necessary.
