Around 2,500 local and overseas job vacancies were opened to hundreds of jobseekers during the “Tara Trabaho, G?” Mega Job Fair held on October 23, 2026, at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in the City of Malolos, Bulacan.

Spearheaded by Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian in close partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the one-day employment drive officially commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

City of Malolos Vice Mayor Engr. Gilbert "Bebong" Gatchalian representing Senate President Gatchalian, Agatha Santos representing Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, Jose Roberto Navata representing DOLE Region III Director Atty. Sarah Buena Mirasol, John Joseph Gaza representing DMW Bulacan Head Atty. Juan Miguel De Leon, Win Action Center Chief of Staff Anthony Alcantara, and PPESO Manager Engr. Egbert Robles led the ceremony.

Opening the proceedings, Robles highlighted the province’s commitment to bridging the gap between local talent and prospective employers to boost the livelihood of every Bulakenyo household.

"Welcome sa bulwagang ito, sana makahanap tayo pare-pareho ng maayos at disenteng trabaho para sa mga Bulakenyo," Robles said.

A total of 113 applicants were hired on the spot out of the 906 participants, who were presented with a wide range of career opportunities by more than 20 participating local companies, licensed overseas recruitment agencies, and national government agencies, offering pathways to stable employment both locally and abroad.

Among the immediate beneficiaries of the joint initiative was Hannah Dela Cruz from the Municipality of Pandi, who successfully landed a job on the spot as a Production Aide after months of searching.

"Masaya at natanggap ako, matagal na rin kasi ako naghahanap ng trabaho, maraming salamat po," Dela Cruz expressed.

In a video message inspiring the jobseekers, Senate President Gatchalian emphasized that securing quality employment is the foundation of stronger families and resilient local communities.

"Ito ay hakbang pasulong tungo sa mas matatag na kinabukasan para sa inyong mga sarili at pamilya, naniniwala tayo na kapag nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang bawat Pilipino na magkaroon ng marangal na trabaho ay mas nagiging matatag ang ating mga pamilya at mas lumalakas ang komunidad," Gatchalian said.
