Two drug suspects arrested in Ilocos Sur buy-bust operations

Police arrested two suspected drug personalities in separate buy-bust operations in Cabugao and Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur, on October 8, seizing a combined 2.07 grams of suspected shabu valued at P14,076.
The first operation was conducted in Cabugao between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., resulting in the arrest of a 37-year-old married man who is unemployed and a resident of Vigan City.
Police said the operation was led by the Cabugao Municipal Police Station, with the assistance of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1, Ilocos Sur Police Intelligence Unit, Ilocos Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Cabugao Municipal Law Enforcement Team and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Authorities seized three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing one gram of suspected shabu valued at P6,800. They also confiscated marked money, an Oppo cellphone, a pack of Marlboro cigarettes and a Yamaha motorcycle.
In a separate operation in Sta. Lucia between 5:18 p.m. and 7:27 p.m., police arrested a 32-year-old married man from Candon City.
The operation was led by the Ilocos Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, with personnel from the Sta. Lucia Municipal Police Station, San Esteban Municipal Police Station, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Police Intelligence Team Ilocos of Regional Intelligence Unit 1 and Ilocos Sur Police Intelligence Unit, in coordination with PDEA Region 1.
Authorities recovered two plastic sachets containing 1.07 grams of suspected shabu valued at P7,276. They also seized marked money, a red Honda Wave motorcycle, a black LEE card holder and a Philippine Statistics Authority identification card.
Police said the seized items were inventoried and marked at the respective arrest sites in the presence of the suspects and required witnesses.
The suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
