Couple arrested in Badoc drug, gun raid


A couple listed among the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) top drug personalities in the provincial level were arrested after police and anti-drug operatives served a search warrant in Badoc, Ilocos Norte.
The suspects, a 35-year-old married man and his 34-year-old wife, both residents of Badoc, were arrested during the operation that started at about 11:45 a.m. on October 7, 2026.
Personnel of the Badoc Municipal Police Station, Police Intelligence Unit, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 1, Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office 1, and PDEA Region 1 took part in the operation.
Police said they recovered three heat-sealed sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing about 13.58 grams including the packaging. The seized suspected drugs were valued at around P76,048 based on the standard drug price.
A Glock Gen 5 9mm pistol, one magazine and seven live rounds of 9mm ammunition were also seized, along with 28 rounds of live .22-caliber ammunition.
Other items recovered included a small weighing scale, rolled aluminum foil, a lighter, unused plastic sachets, a black sling bag, a black pouch and a cellular phone.
The suspects are facing violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police said the marking and inventory of the seized items were conducted in the presence of insulating witnesses.
The suspects and the confiscated evidence were brought to the Badoc Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
