CATARMAN, Northern Samar — A 41-year-old tricycle driver wanted in connection with a murder case was arrested in Tanza, Cavite, after allegedly evading authorities for 12 years.

Northern Samar Police Provincial Office Director Col. George Buyacao said the suspect was arrested on Sunday, 27 September 2026, by operatives of the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company in coordination with Cubao Police Station 7 and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group provincial unit in Cavite.

Buyacao said the suspect had been in hiding for more than a decade after being charged with murder before Regional Trial Court Branch 38 in Gamay, Northern Samar.

A warrant of arrest was issued against him on 21 January 2014, with no bail recommended.

The suspect was brought to Cubao Police Station 7 for documentation and processing before his turnover to the issuing court for appropriate legal proceedings.

Buyacao commended the operating personnel for their persistence in tracking down the suspect.

“Kahit gaano katagal nagtago ang isang wanted person, hindi titigil ang kapulisan sa paghahanap. Darating ang panahon na haharap din siya sa batas,” he said.
