SAN PASCUAL, Batangas — One person was killed and four others were injured after a truck bus struck a tricycle that had stopped to pick up a passenger along Provincial Road in Barangay Palsahingin on Saturday, 26 September.

Police said the crash occurred at around 12:20 p.m. while the tricycle was traveling southbound.

Initial investigation showed that the tricycle driver stopped along the road to allow another passenger to board when the rear portion of the vehicle was hit by a truck bus traveling behind it.

The tricycle driver and three passengers sustained injuries and were taken to San Pascual de Baylon Hospital and San Antonio Life Care Hospital for treatment.

The passenger who was about to board the tricycle was declared dead following the collision, police said.

Both vehicles sustained damage.

Police said documents were being prepared for the filing of an appropriate case against the driver of the truck bus.
