The Mutya ng Pilipinas stage is getting an added touch of high fashion as celebrated Filipino designer Albert Andrada joins the pageant’s 58th season.

Andrada has been named the Official Swimsuit Partner for the Grand Coronation Night of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2026, bringing decades of design experience and an internationally recognized aesthetic to one of the country’s longest-running national pageants.

The collaboration was made official through a contract signing between Andrada and Mutya ng Pilipinas President Cory Quirino, signaling a new creative partnership ahead of this year’s much-awaited finals.

For Andrada, pageantry is familiar territory. His designs have dressed beauty queens and personalities through the years, but one creation remains firmly etched in Philippine pageant history—the royal blue evening gown worn by Pia Wurtzbach when she captured the Miss Universe crown in 2015. He was also responsible for Wurtzbach’s national costume during the international competition.

Long before that unforgettable Miss Universe moment, Andrada had already established an impressive career abroad. He spent more than two decades working in the Middle East, including years designing for the ruling royal family of Fujairah. The experience helped shape a design identity known for luxurious details, meticulous craftsmanship and dramatic sophistication.

His international achievements include being named Swarovski Designer of the Year in Dubai in 2002. He was also recognized as Asia’s Most Connected Designer during the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Asian Fashion Week in Kuala Lumpur.

Through the years, Andrada has dressed royalty, celebrities, beauty queens and other high-profile personalities, building a body of work that bridges Filipino creativity with international couture.

Now, that artistry is headed for the Mutya ng Pilipinas stage.

As Official Swimsuit Partner, Andrada is expected to lend his distinctive creative vision to one of the most anticipated segments of the Grand Coronation Night, adding another fashion highlight to the pageant’s 58th-year celebration.
