Fight intensified vs child exploitation

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has stepped up cross-border coordination with the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations to track down human traffickers and perpetrators of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
HSI Attaché Stephen James Richardson paid a courtesy visit to PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. on 15 September at Camp Crame in Quezon City to discuss strengthening coordination between the two agencies in handling transnational criminal activities.
Nartatez said international cooperation will enhance the capacity of local authorities to pursue offenders whose operations extend beyond the Philippines.
He cited that the push aligns with directives from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to intensify police capability and responsive service delivery.
