Marcelo Del Pilar's Monument
A monument of Filipino journalist and propagandist Marcelo H. del Pilar stands at the corner of M.H. del Pilar Street and Quirino Avenue in Manila, on August 31. Also known by his pen name 'Plaridel' del Pilar was a leading figure of the Propaganda Movement and is venerated as one of the pioneers of Philippine journalism. He edited La Solidaridad, using the publication to campaign for reforms under the Spanish colonial.
