Downspout discharges rainwater onto the street
A downspout at a train station along Taft Avenue in Manila discharges rainwater directly onto the street as heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon inundate the major thoroughfare on 29 August 2026. In May, MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III flagged establishments and infrastructure projects with downspouts that discharged rainwater onto streets instead of into the drainage system.
