(August 25 2026) Geologist and executive director of Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) Mahar Francisco Amante Lagmay, with the group of researchers continues to monitor the effect of typhoon Obet at their office in UP DIliman, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced the release of P1 billion to strengthen Project Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards' (NOAH) artificial intelligence-powered flood forecasting capabilities. Lagmay said the budget will be used to boost the project's real-time hazard monitoring and disaster prevention capabilities such as upcoming “Bahar” Baha Augmented Reality a smartphone tool that uses augmented reality to display flood water levels on real street neighbours.
