Remembering Ninoy

The monument of former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Padre Burgos Avenue in Manila, photographed a day before Ninoy Aquino Day, which commemorates his 1983 assassination. Aquino’s death galvanized opposition to the Marcos dictatorship and helped pave the way for the 1986 People Power Revolution.
