BOC, PDEA uncover shabu hidden in talc stones
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Customs officers sort seized methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) in Tondo, Manila, on 20 August 2026. The seized drugs, weighing approximately 43 kilograms, are estimated to be worth ₱292.4 million. The shipment, which originated from Afghanistan and arrived in two 20-foot container vans, was concealed as talc stones and mixed with filler masterbatch.
