Pokémon’s first Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive title, Pokémon Pokopia, has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide in its first four months since its 5 March 2026 release.
The Pokémon Company and Nintendo Co. Ltd. announced the milestone, noting that the figure includes digital sales based on Nintendo data. Nintendo distributes the game outside Japan.
Planned and co-developed by The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK Inc. and KOEI TECMO GAMES, Pokémon Pokopia is the franchise’s first cozy sandbox game.
Players take on the role of a Ditto transformed to resemble a human and work with Pokémon friends to restore a desolate land. The game allows players to gather resources such as wood and stone, create tools, collect berries and build their own world.
The title's latest milestone comes alongside the rollout of its Expansion Pass, which expands the game's content through three planned releases.
The first part of the paid Expansion Pass, Bubbly Basin, was released on 5 August 2026.
The expansion introduces Bubbly Basin, an underwater town that players can explore using the new Dive move included in a free game update. It also adds new Pokémon and furniture.
The Expansion Pass will be released in three parts, with a single purchase providing access to all three installments as they become available.
Part 2 is scheduled for winter 2026 and will introduce accessories, additional Pokémon and furniture, but no new town.
Part 3 is planned for 2027 and will add another town, along with additional Pokémon and furniture.
The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is currently available through the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store app.
