    • Korean coffee Philippines

South Korean coffee chain Compose Coffee is banking on the star power of BTS member V as it enters the Philippine market, with the global K-pop icon taking an active role in developing exclusive drinks that Filipino fans will now get to try.

V’s partnership with the brand goes beyond serving as its ambassador. One of the café’s signature offerings, the Yuzu Staccato, was co-created with the K-pop idol, while two more beverages personally developed by the BTS star are set to arrive in the Philippines.

“The Yuzu Staccato is actually co-developed with V. That’s why there’s a specific line in the menu, ‘V composed,’ because he made it. There are two more beverages coming in that were made by V, so that’s also something we’re really excited about bringing in,” Compose Coffee Philippines business development head Allan Tan told DAILY TRIBUNE.

The collaboration comes as Korean culture continues to influence Filipino consumers, from music and beauty to food and lifestyle. The company believes V’s involvement will encourage more Filipinos to discover Korean coffee culture.

“He has been a big influencer for many people. Whatever he chooses to do, a lot of fans and a lot of ARMY choose to follow. I think that’s where the beauty of the partnership comes in,” the executive added.

Compose Coffee, which started in Busan in 2014 and has grown to more than 3,000 stores in South Korea, is making its first move into the Philippine market. The brand aims to make premium Korean coffee more accessible through large-sized beverages, grab-and-go convenience and a menu designed to cater to different taste preferences.

Recognizing Filipinos’ fondness for sweeter coffee, the company said it carefully selected beverages that suit the local palate while introducing exclusive drinks created specifically for the Philippine market, including the Orange Americano and Salty Cream Latte.

The brand’s signature coffee beans, roasted at Compose Coffee’s dedicated facility in South Korea, ensure consistent quality across all of its drinks.

As it expands locally, Compose Coffee hopes Filipinos will embrace coffee not just as an energy boost but as part of everyday moments with friends, family and work.
