    • Spider-Man house
    • Queens New York
    • Netflix publicity stunt

A Queens, New York homeowner has been receiving letters from children since buying his house in 2023 for $2 million.

Jack Shi, 64, realized that his house at 20 Ingram St. in Forest Hills was also the address of the Marvel superhero Spider-Man, and the letters were from the fictional character’s fans.

The father of two welcomed the letters and the people who took pictures of the house tagged as “Spider-Man’s home” on Google Maps.

One letter Shi showed to the New York Post came from a four-year-old boy from Nebraska who was inviting Spider-Man to his fifth birthday party.

Meanwhile, a man’s unusual house at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue in West Hollywood, California, attracted spectators from 6 to 8 August.

Los Angeles residents and tourists took photos of the unidentified man seen through the glass window of his living room, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Once, he was seen through the window carrying a dry-erase whiteboard and flashing the message “I’m stuck” written on it to the spectators below, according to the LA Times.

Below the window of the house protruding from a 30-foot-high billboard was the phrase, “How long can you survive?” while to the left was the door with “The Last House” written above it.

The billboard with the house on it and the man living there was actually a stunt promoting “The Last House,” a Netflix film, the LA Times reported. The film is about a family of four who are trapped inside their home with no way out, according to a Netflix statement.

The movie premiered on the streaming platform on 7 August, and the man living in the house on the billboard was last seen the next day.

“If anything, it was a great publicity stunt,” a local named Bruno told the LA Times. “I’d never seen anything like this.”
