A 29-year-old construction worker was apprehended for alarms and scandals and for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, during a police response to a reported disturbance in Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Piñas City on Tuesday morning.
Arrested was alias Ace, construction worker, and a resident of Bacoor, Cavite.
According to the report, personnel of Daniel Fajardo Substation of Las Piñas City Police Station were conducting patrol operations within their area of responsibility when they were approached by a concerned citizen who reported that a man wearing a black shirt and black shorts was causing trouble and allegedly holding a firearm.
The responding police officers immediately proceeded to the area and reportedly saw the suspect causing a disturbance while holding a firearm. The officers cautiously approached and pacified the situation, which eventually led to his arrest.
Seized from his possession and control was one improvised firearm or zip gun marked AWPG, loaded with one live 9mm ammunition marked AWPG1.
The suspect was brought to Las Piñas District Hospital for physical and medical examination before being turned over to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, together with the seized firearm and ammunition, for proper disposition.
