Defending champion TNT demolished Titan Ultra, 114-80, behind an almost complete arsenal to get back on the winning track in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Governors’ Cup on Saturday at the Ynares Center-Montalban.

Jordan Heading returned from a shoulder injury with a bang, pouring 23 points on 9-of-16 field goal shooting as the Tropang 5G rebounded from a loss for a 4-3 win-loss record in Group A.

Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser scored 19 points and import Rahlir Ganuelas-Rosser had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds while Rey Nambatac chipped in 14 for TNT.

TNT used a 26-6 closing run to turn a 14-point lead, 88-74, with 6:43 left in the final canto into a full-blown rout.

“We really made it with concerted effort to really focus on defense. I thought when we lost to NLEX we played with great defense except we couldn’t put enough points on the board because we didn’t have Jordan and Roger (Pogoy) in that game,” Tropang 5G head coach Chot Reyes said.

“Thankfully, tonight we had both of them in and as you saw Brandon’s slowly coming into shape. Poy (Erram) gave us quality minutes as well. It was a big thing that we have an almost complete complement at our disposal today,” he added.

The Giant Risers fell to a 2-6 slate.

Tirrel Brown had 14 points and 11 rebounds while Bryan Sajonia and Jerrick Balanza added 13 points each in a losing effort for Titan Ultra.

Meanwhile, Rain or Shine eyes a fifth straight win and an elimination round sweep of Phoenix in their battle for the solo top spot Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Opening tip of the Group B pairing is set at 5:15 p.m. followed by the 7:30 p.m. main game between Barangay Ginebra and Blackwater.

The Elasto Painters have won their last four games, which started with a 105-98 submission of the Fuel Masters on 21 July, after a 0-2 start.
