Joint law enforcement teams seized an estimated P700 million worth of counterfeit footwear during a raid on a Chinese-owned warehouse in Barangay Alapan II-A, police said Wednesday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the 3 August operation targeted a facility used to store, package, and sell fake shoes bearing globally recognized brand names.

The warehouse owner, a Chinese national who remains at large, faces charges of estafa in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, Nartatez said.

The raid was carried out by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, acting as deputized personnel of the Bureau of Customs, alongside the Philippine Coast Guard and local police.

Operatives executed a mission order following validated intelligence report on illegal trade at the site.

Inspectors discovered imitation footwear carrying trademarks for major international brands, including Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, On Cloud, Crocs, Jordan, Puma, Converse, Skechers and Louis Vuitton.

“Counterfeit goods do not only violate intellectual property rights — they also undermine legitimate businesses, deceive consumers, and fuel unlawful enterprises,” Nartatez said.

“The PNP will relentlessly pursue those who profit from these illegal activities and ensure they are held accountable under the law,” he added.

All seized items were turned over to the Bureau of Customs for inventory, documentation and final disposition.
