  • CAPAS, Tarlac — The Philippine national men’s football team suffered a 0-1 loss to Thailand in the ASEAN Championship here at the New Clark City Stadium on Tuesday.

A header from right-back Waris Choolthong in the 82nd minute broke the Nationals’ defense and secured the Thai’s third win in as many games.

The loss means that the Philippines will now have to win against Malaysia by a huge margin and pray Thailand wins its game against Myanmar to advance to the semifinals.

The Nationals will face the Malaysians at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium on 8 August at 9 p.m. (Manila time).
