The exclusive Last Chukker at the Manila Polo Club was swept up in an aura of timeless sophistication as the Georgetown Alumni Association of the Philippines hosted its Fourth Annual Philippines-United States Independence Day Celebration.

The evening brought together Georgetown alumni, current and incoming students, diplomats and friends of the Georgetown community to celebrate the longstanding friendship between the Philippines and the United States.

Under the seamless stewardship of association president Natalia Peña, and generously backed by MOF Company (Subic) Transport and Logistics, the high-society affair effortlessly revived the classic refinement of old Manila, bridging generations of exceptional minds over fine fellowship and a shared, storied legacy.

The evening’s true piece de resistance was the arrival of the Guest of Honor, the 14th President of the Republic of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, whose presence illuminated the room alongside an illustrious circle of Georgetown’s finest. Flanked by her classmate Sylvia Lichauco, corporate titan Fernando Zobel de Ayala, former BIR Commissioner Kim Henares and Professor Yuhki Tajima of the new SFS Asia Pacific campus, the gathering felt less like a formal reception and more like an intimate salon of global influencers.

The air buzzed with laughter and nostalgia as the distinguished alumni regaled guests with fond, candid memories of their university days spent alongside their legendary classmate, the 42nd US President William Jefferson Clinton, perfectly illustrating the enduring global impact and unbreakable bonds of the Georgetown spirit.
