As demand for faster and more convenient grocery delivery continues to grow, investments in fulfillment infrastructure are creating more than quicker access to everyday essentials. They are also generating employment and supporting local business activity in communities across the country, including the CALABARZON region.

The recent opening of a new 24/7 foodpanda pandamart fulfillment hub in Calamba, Laguna forms part of foodpanda's expansion to 23 operational dark stores nationwide. The growing network is designed to improve last-mile delivery by placing inventory closer to customers, allowing groceries and household essentials to be delivered in as little as 25 to 35 minutes.

For CALABARZON, however, the expansion also brings economic opportunities closer to home.

Each fulfillment hub creates direct employment for warehouse and fulfillment personnel while increasing earning opportunities for freelance delivery partners serving nearby communities. As order volumes grow, the facilities also provide additional distribution channels for local fast-moving consumer goods suppliers and small and medium enterprises, helping connect their products with more customers.

"This marks another milestone for us as we continue to adapt to our customers' changing needs. Every new pandamart brings us closer to our goal of providing Filipinos with a more affordable, convenient, and accessible way to shop for groceries online," said Joseph Wijesekara, Director of Q-Commerce at foodpanda Philippines.

The addition of the Calamba facility further strengthens foodpanda's presence across CALABARZON, where it already operates in Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas as part of its nationwide network spanning Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Beyond improving delivery times, the continued investment in fulfillment centers demonstrates how digital commerce can contribute to local economies. New facilities require people to manage inventory, process orders, and support day-to-day operations while creating more delivery opportunities within surrounding neighborhoods. They also provide local suppliers and SMEs with another route to bring their products directly to consumers.
