The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is gathering more than 200 exporters and export-ready enterprises at the Bagong Pilipinas National Exporters' Fair 2026 from 22 to 26 July at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, as the government steps up efforts to help local businesses expand into new markets amid global trade disruptions.
Launched on Wednesday afternoon, the five-day event will provide Filipino exporters with a platform to showcase their products and services, connect with buyers and stakeholders, and explore new export opportunities.
Exports matter
"Exports matter because behind every single item shipped overseas is a hardworking Filipino worker, a family, a factory and a community that we actually help level up. Every shipment that leaves our ports brings vital revenue back to our country and fuels job creation, strengthens our domestic industry and builds a truly resilient economy," said DTI Secretary Cristina Roque following the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
The fair features exhibitors from key export sectors, including food and beverages, fashion and textiles, home and lifestyle, technology and creative industries, wellness products and export-ready enterprises.
‘Rising star’
Dedicated sections also highlight halal and coconut products, as well as emerging export products such as calamansi, pili and ube, which Roque described as a "rising star."
"Last year, we were able to sell $3.6 million worth of ube, and we can really see it growing. Starbucks in the UK already has a ube latte, so we are really expecting the rise of ube," she said.
Carrying the theme "Navigating Uncertainties and Seizing Opportunities," the event, said the DTI, will also host business matching, consultations, networking sessions, product showcases and Usapang Exports forums focused on market expansion, compliance with global standards, export financing and business development.
