Rising P-pop trio DNA marks a major milestone with the release of its first full-length, self-titled album under ABS-CBN’s StarPop, showcasing the group’s evolving identity through songs that reflect personal experiences and self-discovery.
Composed of sisters Julia, Tasha and Ezri Mitra, the trio explores a wide range of themes across the eight-track record, including confidence, friendship, love, uncertainty, and growth. According to the group, the album represents a period of exploration as they continue shaping their musical identity.
“DNA as an album, you’ll see there’s a lot of variety in it. It’s us just exploring and experimenting to find what our sound is. It’s something everyone can relate to because everyone has a time in their life when they’re still figuring themselves out,” DNA shared.
The album includes the tracks “DNA,” “Don’t Ask Me Why,” “Spider,” “Speeding Ticket,” “Lessons,” “BINGO,” “Glow Up Diary” and “Gala To The Max.” All three members participated in writing and developing the songs, while Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid produced “Glow Up Diary.”
Leading the release is “Spider,” a song that tackles inner struggles and the emotional weight of overthinking while offering a message of hope.
DNA made its debut in the P-pop scene last year with “Don’t Ask Me Why,” an empowering anthem that has accumulated more than 100,000 streams on Spotify and was featured in the iWant original series Miss Behave.
The trio later released the upbeat single “BINGO” before recording “Gala To The Max,” the official summer anthem of SM Supermalls, further highlighting the group’s versatility as performers.
